Self Portrait with a Favourite Toy
This programme is for children aged 5 to 10.
These holidays we get inspired by Rita Angus’s famous portrait of her friend’s twin girls so bring along your favourite toy so we can photograph it and then show you some great techniques to paint yourself with the toy. So claim a space on the lounge room wall.
The painting will be on gesso cardboard and we may use some mixed media, like fabric as well.
This programme runs from 10am to 12pm on the following days:
- Tuesday September 29th
- Wednesday September 30th
- Thursday October 1st
- Tuesday October 6th
- Wednesday October 7th
- Thursday October 8th
Self Portrait with Hat
This programme is for children aged 10 to 13.
Lots of artists have painted themselves wearing a hat. Certainly Rita Angus did. So bring along your strangest weirdest and hopefully most favourite hat. We will then photograph yourself in the hat and use this as the starting point for a self-portrait painting. The paintings could be large and will be on special painting board
This programme runs from 10am to 12pm on the following days:
- Friday October 9th
A Story of my life
This programme is for children aged 10 to 13.
In the painting Donna Nobis Pacem, Rita Angus cleverly combined a range of symbols and imagery to create a rich narrative of someone she greatly admired. We are going to create an amazing artwork, that tells the story of your life through an a array of media using the style of Angus’s work as inspiration.
This programme runs from 10am to 12pm on the following days:
- Friday October 9th
Please note
Classes may be documented and images used by the Gallery for publicising children and family activities. Please let Gallery staff know if do not wish your child to be filmed or photographed.
