Nickelodeon Boo at the Zoo is on at the Auckland Zoo on October 31st 2009 to celebrate Halloween (with a rain date on November 1st).

Date: Saturday 31 October (rain date Sunday 1 November)
Time: 6.00pm to 9.00pm
Price: Adults $22, Children (4-15 years) $22, Family (2+2) $70, Under 4 years free. Tickets purchased by Friends of the Zoo members (as per membership type) receive a 20% discount.

About the Event
Grab your broomstick and get set to fly into the best place to trick or treat this Halloween – Nickelodeon Boo at the Zoo on Saturday 31 October between 6pm and 9pm.
Creatures great and small are invited to share a night of spectacular non-stop en"terror"tainment at a transformed Auckland Zoo, where guests should expect the unexpected!
Start your frightfully fun adventure as you enter the zoo and make your way around the themed "Boo" stops. There will be treats to collect along the way and surprises around each corner with fairies, stilt walkers, face painters and more.
Are you brave enough to visit the Victorian ghosts, or make it through coffin city? Will you ride the ghost train or make it past the bag monster? What will be revealed when you have your fortune told?
The Band Rotunda is the place to park your broom for the night and groove to the Boo Band and enjoy the Nickelodeon Games Zone. The ghoul times continue with the chance to meet Nickelodeon's SpongeBob "Spooky" Pants, Patrick Star, super fairies Cosmo and Wanda, and devilish Dora the Explorer.
There are prizes for best costumes throughout the evening and the overall best dressed will be judged based from costumes made from recycled materials.

Jane and I took our son Jamie (almost 4 at the time) to the 2008 Auckland Zoo Nickelodeon Boo at the Zoo with a friend and her granddaughter and I'll be taking him again this year on my own. (Jane will be at home with new baby). I have posted some photos of last year's event here, will post more photos and a report of this year's event a day or two after it.
