Wellington Zoo has fun educational animal focussed activities each weekday of the September and October 2009 School Holidays, and is tailored for children aged 6 to 10 years.
Activity Schedule
Monday 28 September - Animals Face to Face
Get up close with some of the Zoo’s incredible animals. You may even have a monkey sit on your knee! Booked out
Tuesday 29 September - Young Zoologist Day
Have you got what it takes to be a zoologist? Spend time with the Zoo’s veterinary, training and keeping teams. Learn how to train and handle animals as well as animal first aid.
Wednesday 30 September - Picture This!
Learn how to take great photographs and draw fantastic pictures before you go out into the Zoo to do so. You may even see how some of our animals create their own works of art.
Thursday 1 October - Zoo Keeper for a day
Follow in the footsteps of our keepers. Get involved in daily duties at the Zoo—feeding, cleaning, weeding and maybe even scooping poop!
Friday 2 October - On the Prowl
Go behind the scenes and spend time with the Zoo keepers making up the animals’ meals. Then go out into the Zoo and feed fabulous animals your treats.
Monday 5 October - Young Zoologist Day

Tuesday 6 October - Go Ape!
Are you stronger than a chimp? Can you see better than a gibbon, or solve puzzles as fast as a monkey? Spend time challenging our close relatives and go behind the scenes to explore their homes at the Zoo.

Cost: $50 per child, per day
