Camp Sladdin Scout Camp
Camp Sladdin is a Scout Camp located on a Manukau City reserve at the northern end of Clevedon Village and is available to all community groups, particularly: Scouts, Guides, Church Groups, School Camps, Reunions, Sports Club training camps and Team Building activities for businesses.
The campsite sits beside 3 acres of tree shaded land and is bordered on one side by a stream. A further 5 acres of reserve adjacent to the site is available for camping if needed. A walking track loops around an old quarry which is now covered in native bush. It is an excellent area for nature study as well as for adventure and fun.
Camp Sladdin features two halls for dining and activities; four sleeping rooms off the dining hall with 40 bunks in total; a kitchen.
On-site activities include bush walks; eeling; viewing glow worms in the quarry; a flying fox over the stream; climbing the rock face in the old quarry. Nearby off-site activities include Ardmore Airfield; canoeing & swimming; hikes; horse-riding; fly fishing; confidence courses; mountain biking; rafting; swimming; hot pools; and rifle shooting.
