Chilton Dance Centre
Chilton Dance Centre is the leading secondary dance organisation in New Zealand and offers excellent training in classical and contemporary dance and other related dance styles.
The Chilton Dance Centre provides after school dance lessons and training in Classical Ballet, Jazz, Street Fusion (Hip Hop), Contemporary, Tap and Pilates to students from Pre-School to Adults. The Dance Centre is dedicated to providing the highest standard of dance in a positive, caring environment to students, both female and male, from the wider community.
The Chilton Dance Centre offers a comprehensive curriculum in Classical Ballet technique and allied dance styles. Programmes include:
- Classical Ballet technique including the Royal Academy of Dance syllabus
- Pointe
- Repertoire
- Contemporary
- Stretching and Strengthening
- Modern Jazz and Hip Hop - both the New Zealand Association of Dance American style
- syllabus and the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing Modern syllabus
- Musical Theatre Voice and Dance training classes and the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing Tap syllabus
- Private Lessons for competition and audition preparation
The core course of study per week includes up to six hours of Classical Ballet, one hour each of Pointe, Repertoire and Variations and one hour of Contemporary Dance, Stretching and Strengthening or Modern Jazz. Other options include Musical Theatre and Tap.
