Christchurch Art Gallery
The Christchurch Art Gallery is the largest art institution in the South Island and contains over 5,500 items, including paintings, prints, drawings, sculpture, ceramics, textiles, glass, metalwork and photography.

The gallery can be a fun place to take your kids during the weekend or as a rainy day activity and also has a schools programme; lessons can be booked for 10:00am to 12:00pm and 12:30pm to 2:30pm.
The Christchurch Art Gallery is open every day (except Christmas Day) from 10:00am to 5:00pm daily and 10:00am to 9:00pm every Wednesday. Admission is free unless stated otherwise.
