Orana Wildlife Park Christchurch
Orana Wildlife Park is New Zealand's only open range zoo and offers a range of exciting animal encounters on a daily basis just a few minutes drive from Christchurch.
The Park has been developed as an open range sanctuary for endangered animals, providing them with enclosures as close to their natural habitat as possible. Streams, moats and banks are used as barriers to allow visitors the opportunity to see the animals in a natural manner. Over 400 animals from 70 different species are displayed.
Orana Wildlife Park is open daily from 10.00am until 5.00pm with last entrance at 4.30pm. It is closed on Christmas Day. It is run by the Orana Wildlife Trust which also runs the Southern Encounter Aquarium and Kiwi House in Christchurch and the Natureland Zoo at Tahunanui Beach in Nelson.
