The Wellingon Zoo has around 500 animals comprising over 100 species and opens 364 days a year, and was New Zealand's first zoo.

Wellingon Zoo is open every day except Christmas Day from 9:30am to 5:00pm with last entry at 4:15pm.

Zoo Crew Pricing
Join the "Zoo Crew" and go to the zoo as many times as you like throughout the year, as well as exclusive discounts and offers. Prices are as follows:
Zoo Crew for 1 child (3-14 year olds): $30
Zoo Crew for 1 adult: $65
Zoo Crew for 1 child and 1 adult: $80

School Holiday Programmes
The Wellington Zoo has school holiday programmes with fun activities for your children each weekday of the school holiday periods.
School Groups
Wellington Zoo's "Journey of Discovery" learning sessions are tailor made to the needs of each class, and can accommodate students of all ages, from Year 1 through to tertiary level. Sleepovers
The zoo has a sleepover programme where your group has a special night time tour of the zoo and then sleep overnight. Another guided tour runs after breakfast to see the zoo waking up.
